HIGHLY MODIFIED SPECIALITY STARCH PRODUCT
Sizotex – PV is a highly modified and formulated Imported Starch product, free from PVA and any synthetic polymers. The high adhesive strength and the flexible film forming property of Sizotex – PV provides the necessary elastic warp thread protection, which in turn contribute optimal flow characteristics during weaving. Sizotex – PV produces excellent results in sizing of all type of yarns like cotton, synthetic and blends. Sizotex – PV sizing baths have high stability of viscosity and do not form a skin.
Sizotex-PV is easily desizable without enzyme. Sizing can be removed completely by washing in hot water (2 gpl of soda ash or soda lye is recommended)
Advantages
Viscosity
Sizotex – PV has a low viscosity, which helps in better penetration. A 10% paste has a viscosity of 5 to 7 seconds in 50 ml TEXSIZE / ATIRA cup at 90 °C. This low viscosity is very much suitable for all types of yarns, especially dyed yarns.
Binding
Sizotex – PV has an excellent adhesive strength. It also has very good tackiness, which in turn helps in better binding and improved weaving efficiency. It replaces all synthetic binders like PVA, Acrylic and other polymers also.
Consistency
Sizotex – PV is highly consistent and thereby ensures uniform pick-up. There is no skin formation in size bath. There is also no retrogradation during overnight storage.
Film Formation
Sizotex – PV forms a strong and flexible film which in turn provides the necessary elastic warp thread protection. This will ensure better pliability and reduction of loss in elongation. Sizotex – PV film has tough tensile strength and good elasticity, which provides excellent resistance to wear, with better smoothness and fluff binding properties.
Preparation of Sizing paste
Cooking is simple with Sizotex – PV. With continuous and preferably vigorous stirring, the required quantity of Sizotex – PV is sprinkled to hot water and stirred for 30 mts. Then the suspension is cooked at 130∞C/30 psi and retained for 10 mts, before transferring to the storage. Sizotex PV is also ideally suitable for atmospheric cooking.
Low Add-on
Dense constructions are easily woven at low size add-on, as there is more air space in the reed. Lower add-on results in less shedding on the loom.
De-sizing
Sizotex – PV possess excellent water solubility and is easily desizable. Sizing can be removed completely by washing in hot water (2 gpl of soda ash or caustic soda lye is recommended). “No enzyme is required for size removal”.
